Behind the scenes of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Brooklyn Photo shoot

On an very overcast day me and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Brooklyn took to the Brooklyn Bridge to make an Iconic background part of the ladies story amazing story.  This ended up being a day full of laughs and passers by wanting to stand in for photos.  It was an amazingly fun day these Mormon girls were so sweet to everyone. We got some amazing photos and great video footage with the help of Thomas Mendolia.  Leave some comments and let me know what you think.

Screen shot from my website.

I got a photo in the New York Post this morning. Thats pretty cool

"‘The Book of Mormon” isn’t the only show in town" said Frank Scheck of the New York Post.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Brooklyn is kicking but and taking names.  Mostly names of Mormon men to replace their missing husband Charles as their brother-husband.  Get the scoop here in the  New York Post and decide to go see the show this Wednesday night.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Brooklyn

Sometimes you just get amazingly fun photography jobs!   Taking photographs of the  The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Brooklyn was one of those fun and amazing jobs.  The UOGB  asked me to tell their story in a couple of photographs. So first question who are they and whats there story.
Well they are 4 actors/singers/artists performing the play "Missionary in Manhattan" a Mormon Musical.   for the Dream Up Festival at Theater For The New City.    Writers and creators Elizabeth May, Caitlin Davis have recruited 2 great actors/singers Dave May and Lily Narbonne to tell the story of 3 Mormon Sister Wives who have been abandon by their husband in New York City.   The sister wives Elizabeth May (Sister Bunny Catherine),  Caitlin Davis (Sister Gretchen),  Lily Narbonne  (Sister Fanny) tell their story though music, song and have a little history lesson mixed in.  Thats the short of it.  So now the photo.      To tell the story I chose something iconic that says both New York and Brooklyn what else is there but The Brooklyn Bridge.     The day I spent on the Brooklyn Bridge with these 3 sister wives was amazing. There are so many people walking, running, biking across the bridge every day and everyone wanted to stop, taken in by the sister wives charm.  Every passer by was welcomed by them to listen to their songs and encouraged to take out their cameras to snap a picture.      This was an amazing day and these 3 woman are talented and funny.   Please go see them one of the funnest Mormon shows in NYC. schedule and location here.   Or read the rest of the story in Playbill or Theater Mania

Occupy Wall Street on Mayday in New York City. May 1, 2012

I was sitting at my computer in my computer on a dreary Brooklyn morning when I heard of the Occupy Wall Street demonstration that was going on in the city.  I read up on yahoo news, cnn and listened to npr to find out they were going to do a mach from Union Square down Broadway all the way to Wall Street.  After a few cups of coffee and catching up on my emails I decided to grab my camera and head to Union Square.  I spent from about 3 p.m. till about 9 p.m. following protesters all around Union Square and down to Wall Street.  I've decided to post some of the photos I think were worth sharing with everyone.  I did my best to keep my views to myself and just step back and let the people in them tell the story.  I hope you enjoy and there will be more posts this week.

Christmas Holiday.

Most of us spend the holiday’s with our families and I was no different.  I drove down to Raleigh NC to hang out with my parents, brother and his family.  During that time I got to hang out with my nephew Alex. I decided to show him what you can do with a camera, a flashlight and the night sky.  So here are some of the photos we did during that warm NC Christmas night.  Check out some more photos at my Tumblur site.
